Assessing Your level of Incontinence

Depending on the amount of fluid taken, a healthy person produces on average about 1000-1500 ml of urine in 24 hours.

However, urine is not produced at the same rate throughout the day. Most of our urine is produced at six clock in the morning!

The bladder serves as an intermediate store for the urine formed continuously from the kidneys. By normal fluid intake, the bladder is usually emptied two to six times a day (micturition). The amount of urine is normally about 300-400 ml each time.

Urinary incontinence is usually divided into four severity levels:

  • Very light or Stress incontinence: Up to 30 ml urine loss per day
  • Light incontinence: 50-300ml urine loss per day
  • Medium incontinence: 400-800ml urine loss per day
  • Severe incontinence: More than 900ml urine loss per day

The comprehensive 2015 Caroli® Incontinence Range includes products which covers the full spectrum of consumer needs. When choosing your Caroli product please assess which is most suitable for your needs.
